Common Zombies, the staple of zombie shooter games.

—kappyta_n

Summary[]

About the same walk-speed as a survivor, but slightly faster. It also has the ability to run, slightly faster than a Riot Zombie.

Backstory[]

The Normal Zombie is the first and most common type of zombie. The "Dreaded virus" has given them an urge to kill survivors. They have some memory and basic motor functions but their consciousness has mostly deteriorated.

Some time after the zombie apocalypse began, most of the survivors started wearing masks, since they thought the "Dreaded virus" traveled by air. They were wrong, the virus simply turns dead survivors into zombies.

Tips[]

Survivors[]

  • If you are fighting a group of zombies you should focus on eliminating Riot Zombies first, followed by Bloodsuckers and leaving the Normal Zombies for last.
    • Riot Zombies can kill you the fastest and tank damage for fellow zombies, so they get the priority.
    • If your primary runs out of ammo, you should use your secondary to finish off the Normal Zombies and any Riot Zombies that are left.
      • Keep in mind that Normal Zombies are very easy to outrun if you are completely out of ammo.
        • However, Normal Zombies can also run to keep up with you.
  • Shotguns and assault rifles are a very good choice to kill normal zombies easily, but most guns do the trick.
    • Other zombie types are still more dangerous, so try focusing on bringing weapons better against them.
  • If you're familiar with the map & it's zombie's outfits, it's easy to identify which is an AI & which is not.
  • Make sure to equip a helmet as Normal Zombies can easily take you out if you don't have one.

Zombies[]

  • The Normal Zombie wears the same helmet and Armor that you have equipped, which works the same way as wearing armor as a survivor.
  • Try to use obstacles such as cars and trees to your advantage when engaging survivors.
    • It will be harder for survivors to hit you if you are behind cover, although you are not completely invincible, since survivors can easily overpower or flank you.
  • If you see bloodsucker, you can try to help them to get closer to a survivor by acting as a meat shield and/or distracting the survivor.
    • This works better if you are a Riot Zombie, since it's shield has 750 HP.
    • Don't get too close to the bloodsucker though, since bullets from certain weapons could penetrate you, and actually just end up saving ammo for the survivors.
  • Try to ambush survivors by waiting beside doorways or behind obstacles to catch them off-guard.
    • If possible, try to rush a survivor with your running ability.

Trivia[]

  • AI Normal Zombies have different costumes depending on the map.
    • If a map doesn't have exclusive outfits for AI Normal Zombies (for example Santa's Village), then it will use the default outfits.
  • This is the only zombie whose health is not determined.
    • As of 1.67 Normal Zombies now have determined health.
      • As of 1.79 health for Normal Zombies are now static again, mostly for balancing changes.
  • As of 1.62 Normal Zombies are able to sprint, this also applies to AI Normal Zombies.
    • Normal Zombies can also attack while running; this makes the Normal Zombie a second zombie to have this feature.
      • The first being the Bloodsucker, since it is always running.
  • As of 1.66 Normal Zombies 3rd hit now damages head armor instead of body armor.
    • This means helmets have more of a use now as on the Hardcore gamemode, you can easily be killed because you lack a helmet.
